Camogli, the "City of the Thousand White Sailing Ships"

This small fishing village overlooking the Golfo Paradiso, part of the regional natural park of Portofino, is the ideal starting point to easily reach the most famous towns of the Ligurian Riviera like the Cinque Terre and Portofino.

The hotel is located in a strategic position at the beginning of the pedestrian area just a few steps from the sea promenade, next to the beach overlooking a typical square of the seaside village.

Trekking and excursions

For trekking and excursion lovers, hiking trails to reach the Park of Monte di Portofino are just a few hundred meters away.

Here you can find different paths that lead to famous places of San Fruttuoso di Camogli and Portofino.

The location of the Hotel La Camogliese is an excellent starting point for those who want to appreciate the natural beauty of the area.

Stefania and her team will advise you on choosing the suitable route among the 80km of trails in the Park.

Abbazia di San Fruttuoso

Reachable by boat from the small port of Camogli or via the scenic trails of the Monte di Portofino Park, a journey of about three hours, the Bay of San Fruttuoso is home to the evocative Abbey, now a FAI property.

Here you can visit the historic church, the abbey, and relax on the characteristic pebble beach.

Punta Chiappa e Porto Pidocchio

Punta Chiappa is a charming strip of land extending into the sea, easily accessible from Camogli.

You can easily reach it by boat from the small port of Camogli or opt for a hike through the Monte di Portofino Park, which takes about an hour.

The boat docks at the enchanting Porto Pidocchio, so named for its small size.

Sagra del Pesce

Every second Sunday in May, Camogli celebrates its patron saint, San Fortunato, with the traditional Fish Festival.

The festivities begin on Saturday with the opening of food stands and market stalls. In the evening, a procession carries the saint's coffin through the town streets, culminating in a moving moment: the race up the steps leading to the square before returning to the church.

From the early hours of Sunday, the aroma of fried fish cooking in the characteristic 4-meter-diameter pan located in Piazza Colombo wafts through the "caruggi" (narrow streets).

Stella Maris

Every first Sunday in August, Camogli celebrates Stella Maris, a moving event in honor of the Madonna, protector of fishermen. In the morning, a cannon shot announces the departure of the Dragun, a traditional sailboat and oar, followed by boats and canoes decked out in flags, which transports the parish priest to the altar of the "Stella Maris" at Punta Chiappa for Holy Mass.

In the evening, thousands of lit candles are released from the Camogli coastline, creating a magical spectacle as the Dragun, accompanied by canoes, parades in a mesmerizing display of lights and music.

Parco del Monte di Portofino

The Portofino National Park is a natural oasis, characterized by lush Mediterranean scrub and imposing cliffs overlooking the sea.

With its rich biodiversity and numerous scenic trails, it offers spectacular views and the opportunity to explore its natural beauty on foot, from picturesque villages to enchanting coves.

Portofino

Portofino is an iconic Ligurian seaside village, renowned for its unique beauty and refined atmosphere.

From Camogli, you can easily reach Portofino by boat, changing lines at San Fruttuoso, or by hiking the trails of the Monte di Portofino Park, which takes about four and a half hours.

Surrounded by Mediterranean scrub and dominated by Castello Brown, it offers enchanting views and trails leading to hidden coves and breathtaking panoramas.

Cinque Terre

The Cinque Terre represent a unique stretch of Ligurian coastline, where five seaside villages Monterosso, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, and Riomaggiore cling to steep cliffs that plunge into a crystal-clear sea.

From Camogli, the most convenient way to reach the Cinque Terre is by train, with frequent connections from the train station. Alternatively, in high season, several companies offer boat excursions that allow you to admire the coast from the sea.

Characterized by colorful houses, terraced vineyards, and a dense network of scenic trails, they are a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Genova

Genoa is a charming port city, where history blends with modernity. From Camogli, Genoa is easily accessible by train, with direct and frequent connections from the train station to the city center (Genoa Brignole or Genova Principe stations).

Its medieval historic center, one of the largest in Europe, winds through a labyrinth of "caruggi" (narrow alleys) that lead to hidden squares, majestic churches, and sumptuous palaces.

Overlooking the Ligurian Sea, the city offers picturesque views of ancient noble residences and the lively Porto Antico, now redeveloped and full of attractions.
